News about country music star Colt Ford, who was hospitalized Thursday after a performance in Gilbert, Arizona, is improving.
Ford suffered a heart attack and his team told Taste of Country that he was in intensive care at a Mesa hospital.
There is currently an update that he is working on improving.
Country music star Brantley Gilbert shared the positive news about Ford’s health on social media.
“I called to check on Colt after a show in Texas last night and the family had good news!” Gilbert wrote. “In honor of Colt and his family, this is all I will share. Please keep them in your prayers!”
Ford’s team recently told Taste of Country that Ford’s “condition is steadily improving for the better.”
“At this time, his family has requested privacy and appreciates everyone’s continued thoughts and prayers,” the team told Taste of Country.
According to Taste of Country, Ford has also had other recent health issues. Although he successfully battled eye cancer, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called myasthenia gravis for which there is no treatment, which affects the muscles of the face, eyes and throat, the magazine wrote.
“It didn’t really affect my throat, but it really affected my eyes,” Ford told Taste of Country in 2023. “I couldn’t control my right eye. It really messes up your vision. I could see perfectly in either eye, but when I looked at them together I saw three people and they blended together like a lava lamp. I guess.”
Ford has released eight studio albums since 2008 and is also a former professional golfer. His real name is Jason Faris Brown.
