Heart Foundation established in Baggerhat
Bagerhat, April 13, 2024 (BSS) – A Heart Foundation will be established in the southern district of Bagerhat to provide medical services to patients suffering from cardiovascular and related diseases.
Professor Dr. Chaudhry Hafizul Ahsan, director of the University of Nevada’s Cardiovascular Fellowship Program and the principal initiator of the establishment of the Bagerhat Heart Foundation, told reporters.
He said eminent national and international doctors, prominent figures from the southern region including Khulna and Bagerhat, and social workers are participating in the initiative. In addition, a specialized cardiac hospital will be established in the region.
He added that the Department of Social Welfare and the National Heart Foundation are working together to establish the Heart Foundation.
Dr Hafizul said that for the first time, a cardiac camp will be held in Bagherhat on April 16.
On the day, eminent specialists will provide free treatment to the rich and poor at Codec Training Center in Dari Taluk, Ranovi Joypur. If required, patients can avail the services of the National Heart Foundation in Dhaka.
Apart from heart disease, HeartCamp provides free treatment to patients suffering from or at risk of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease and stroke.

Hafizul Ahsan also said that until the hospital is established, at least one specialized ambulance will be procured so that heart patients from Bagerhat can reach hospitals in Dhaka as soon as possible.
