Country singer and rapper Colt Ford is in the intensive care unit at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa after suffering a heart attack after performing in Gilbert on April 4th. This isn’t the first time the Georgia-born singer has dealt with health issues. In May 2023, he spoke to Taste of Country about being diagnosed with the autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis. In his interview, he talked about how the disease commonly affects the muscles of the face, eyes and throat and that there is no cure. For him personally, it affected his vision to the point where he could no longer control his right eye.

He also suffered from fatigue while performing shows, but said he was taking supplements from his doctor at the time, which “really helped.”

Mr. Ford has also been battling eye cancer and underwent surgery about three years ago.

The Arizona Republic has reached out to Ford’s team, but as of this article’s publication, they do not have an update on his medical condition to share.
