Massive campaign to relocate another 400,000 Australians

The Heart Foundation launches its biggest ever physical activity campaign, Walking Winds, to encourage 400,000 Australians to get active and improve their heart health.

Although heart disease is largely preventable, it remains the leading cause of death in Australia.

According to the National Health Survey, only one in five adults (22.4%) aged 18 to 64 meet the recommended level of physical activity set out in the Australian Physical Activity Guidelines.

Kim Lang, Manager of Heart Health and Community Engagement at the Heart Foundation, said walking can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, is free, available to many people, and easy to start and do. He said it was an ideal physical activity. Almost everywhere.
