PTC News Desk: On Saturday, gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari was laid to rest in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Although his post-mortem report lists the cause of Ansari’s death as a heart attack, Ansari’s family maintains that he was secretly assassinated by administering a “slow-release poison.”

1. Cause of death: After his death, gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari was buried in Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. His post-mortem report said he died of a heart attack. However, Ansari’s family maintains that foul play using “slow poison” led to his death.

2. Anatomical findings: The team of five doctors who performed the post-mortem identified “yellow areas” in Ansari’s heart, suggesting a possible clotting problem. Sources reported that post-mortem results showed the presence of blood clots, with certain areas measuring 1.9 x 1.5 cm appearing yellow.

3. Pre-existing symptoms: According to prison records, Ansari had a variety of health conditions, including heart disease, depression, skin allergies and diabetes.

4. Incident at Banda Prison: Ansari, a convicted murderer, was found unconscious in a high-security cell at Banda Prison. He was immediately rushed to Rani Durgawati Medical College, where he died.

5. Suspected poisoning: Ansari’s lawyer filed a complaint in Barabanki court, claiming that Ansari was poisoned on March 19 before his death.

6. Family claims: Despite the autopsy results, Ansari’s family remains convinced that foul play was involved in his death. His younger brother Afzal Ansari is adamant that Mukhtar Ansari was murdered.

7. Addiction Claim: Afzal Ansari claims that Mukhtar Ansari told him during a brief meeting that he was poisoned and lost consciousness. The families vow to present convincing evidence to support their claims.

8. Hospital litigation: Ansari was admitted to the hospital around 8:25 pm on Thursday, and a team of nine doctors attended to him before he died, according to an official statement from the hospital.

9. Judicial investigation: A three-member team has been appointed to conduct an administrative investigation into Ansari’s death. Banda’s Chief Judicial Judge issued an order to launch a judicial investigation.

10. Legal history: Last year, Mukhtar Ansari was found guilty of the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Additionally, on March 13, 2024, he was sentenced to life in prison for a 1990 case involving the use of forged documents to obtain a weapons license.
