About the research: In this multicenter, randomized trial involving 600 patients, paclitaxel-coated balloons showed significantly lower efficacy rates for the composite endpoint of target lesion failure among patients undergoing coronary angioplasty for in-stent restenosis. It was better than a balloon that wasn’t. Paclitaxel-coated balloons are an effective treatment option for patients with in-stent restenosis of coronary arteries.
