46th Annual WSUL Heart-A-Thon

SULLIVAN – The 46th annual WSUL Heart-A-Thon was held Friday at Resorts World Catskills, with hundreds of people participating to raise money for heart disease prevention, education and treatment in Sullivan County. did. Since its inception, Heart-A-Thon has raised more than $3 million for him.

Bold Gold Media General Manager Dawn Ciorchari spoke about the mission of the annual fundraising event, which consists of live radio broadcasts throughout the day.

“This is about heart disease and local fundraising here in Sullivan County. This year we are helping four organizations: Garnet Health Medical Center Catskills, Sullivan 180, A Single Bite, and the STEAM Fund. “All donations will go towards programs related to heart disease prevention, education and treatment,” she said.

Jody Goodman, director of patient experience at Garnet Medical, has been involved with Heart-A-Thon for the past 24 years and spoke about how this year’s event will benefit the hospital.

“This year, we are raising money for an echocardiogram. We already have an echocardiogram, but we need another one. Unfortunately, medical care is difficult in Sullivan County, and we need more equipment. “This echocardiogram machine is portable, so it can be moved throughout the hospital,” Goodman said.

Among the biggest donations of the day was a $10,000 donation by Resorts World.

This year’s event raised a total of $80,950.
